Mattel Marauder

This was a triumph.

I’m making a note here: “Huge Success”

It’s hard to overstate my satisfaction.

Seriously though. I’m very pleased with this work.

The colours come from the original stuff printed on the reverse side of the paper.

The image comes from an old toy gun ad:

Crazy eh. I loved toy guns (Still do, really) as much as anyone, but once the image of a child with an weapon of war is taken out of the toy ad context, we can see how weird this gun loving really is.

I mean, when you think about it, this is toy meant to mimic a machine designed to fling hot chunks of metal through the air at incredible rates of fire with the SOLE purpose of putting holes in people.

It’s nightmarish- Yet there is this appeal.

I can’t blame the toy makers for creating it. They just capitalize on whatever it is in us (A desire for power?) that makes us love person-hole-making hot-metal-chunk flinging machines.
