Using postal labels is something of a tradition in Graffiti and Street Art.

Postal stickers are quick to apply, easy to get ahold of, and often free.

Earlier this year I was in Korea, where I discovered that Korean Postal Stickers were large and interesting. I started putting some up and thought about how there wasn’t anyone else doing the same in Korea. Korea has a small (but growing) street art scene.

I decided that it would be cool to send Korean Postal Stickers to street artists all over the world. They would do their thing on them, send some back, and then I would put the results up on the streets of Korea.

I thought that putting all those international artists up together would be like creating an “Instant Scene”. It would bring, at least for a little while, sticker culture to Korea.

I got on some forums, sent some emails, and posted about it on my Fotolog. I asked many artists to join the project.

I also held a contest to name the project.
Stoop suggested the winning name: “SticKorea”
Another suggestion was “Sticky Fingers”.

Once the deadline passed for finished stickers, I put the entries up together in a Seoul subway station.
