I’m angry, sure, but I’m also EMBARASSED for my country. Now we’re internationally known as a country that puts religious asshats (fundamentalist or creationist, whatever) in charge of science.

Man, that article I link to in the globe and mail is pretty fucking friendly to our minister of “science”. It quotes the outraged scientists, but then forgets the issue, and gives his life story- going on and on about how fucking great he is.
It would seem that our media is getting more old-school American-style too, to match our government.

Always the 2 arguments- We would never criticize ANOUTHER religion this way (Christians are so picked on by the lefties in the media) + Non-believers are the noisy minority. (We’re so damn pushy with our FACTS and OBSERVABLE DATA) Both pretty bad and essentially false arguments.
