Throw Up Thursday
It’s a Throw Up Thursday!
Do you like the double line on the “S”?
I do.
Hey, Adelaide is pretty intense.
But have you noticed how the authorities and media always refer to graff crews as “gangs”? I think they do this in an attempt to try and make graff scarier! Graffiti Attack!
If you want to make a group of people more scary, you call them a “Gang”- if you want to make them less scary, you call them a “Club”. Think “Bike Club” VS “Bike Gang” or, perhaps “Businessman’s Yacht Club” VS “Businessman’s Yacht Gang”!
In the linked article, they use only 420 words, but they manage to squeeze both “Gang” and “Attack” in five times a piece- as well as this gem:
“This is not kids with textas, ” he said. “They are highly sophisticated gangs with state of the art materials, including ladders and cameras.”
Oh no, not LADDERS! Those devices that allow you reach high places? I’ve heard of those, that is state the art. And I’ll bet those cameras are digital. Why, there is almost no limit to the amount of photos you could take with one of those!
ooohhh. Scary.
Now here’s some forward thinking, inspired by the intelligence of the past!

A-Fucking-men!
The media always likes to make things out to be so terrifying it is a wonder the average citizen even gets up in the morning.

Atkinson means business though- you say if you want to make something scarier you call it a gang, but he’s already outlawed several motorcycle clubs.
And Such wants to ban wide-tipped textas, but he’s not doing anything about things as ’sophisticated’ as ladders. Surely he’s implying that ladders are more danger in the hands of taggers than textas are though? I dunno. Last major initiative of his was to introduce a Bill that was copied directly from a West Wing episode that aired the week before.
Graff in this city is impoverished already… I hope they don’t get their way.
